Backup privacy notice
This notice covers Appraisal Encrypted Backups, the owner's backup tool. It does not describe every data use by the separate Targa Appraisal website or claim-management application.
Status and purpose
As of October 3, 2026, this system is being configured and has not completed a verified live backup and recovery. The following describes the planned operation. Its purpose is to preserve and recover the owner's application records and documents.
Information processed
The export can include claim and contact details, vehicle information, financial and appraisal records, notes, stored documents, account and recovery records, and credential material present in the database. The owner also supplies an encrypted package of essential recovery configuration.
Google authorization provides credentials for accessing files created by this backup application or explicitly selected for it. The backup worker uses Drive file metadata and encrypted archive contents to upload, verify, and manage its backup copies. It does not request Gmail access or full-Drive access.
Where information goes
The source application uses Supabase. The backup worker temporarily processes the database and document export in Google Cloud Run. It encrypts the archive with the owner's public recovery key before uploading it to the designated private Google Drive folder. Google Cloud Secret Manager holds the worker's access credentials and the already-encrypted recovery-configuration package. Recovery requires keeping the private recovery key separately from the worker and Google Cloud.
The worker is designed for backup and recovery. It has no advertising, sale-of-data, or AI-model processing function. Google Drive and Google Cloud provide the storage and processing services described here.
Access and retention
Drive authorization permits reading, editing, creating, and deleting app-authorized files; it is not limited by Google to a single folder. The worker's folder restriction is an application safeguard. The owner controls access to the Google account, Cloud project, and recovery key.
The planned retention is seven daily calendar days plus a monthly snapshot retained until the owner changes the policy. Automatic cleanup is initially disabled. When enabled, eligible managed daily copies move to Drive Trash; monthly, newest, and protected recovery copies are preserved. Trashed copies may remain recoverable and stored until Drive or the owner removes them. This is not a promise of complete erasure after seven days.
Your choices
The owner can revoke this application's Google access in Google Account settings. Revocation stops future authorized access; it does not erase existing backups. Existing backup copies are managed separately in Drive. Keep the private recovery key: encrypted copies cannot be recovered without it.
